Last night (Friday) was the #13 game.
They played great!!
[The coach has twin boys who both play on LittleMan's team. One plays 1st base, one plays in between 1st and 2nd base.] Both the twins missed the game because they had to have their tonsils out. So one of LittleMan's best friends played first base.
The boys played so well together! They had the crowds cheering!
As ugly as I know this sounds, I hope that the coach leaves that boy on first base. [Some other Moms were saying that we always lose because of where the twins play.] And as ugly as that seems too, it kind of makes sense.
I just know that they won 17-12!
They have a make-up game today, I will post about it tonight or tomorrow.

About Me
My name is Daphne. I was born and raised in Northwest Alabama. I lived there for twenty years, then moved to East Central Alabama.
I married my Hubby right out of high school. July 24, 1999. And I'm still head over heels for him. Most days anyway =) He is the Lead Lineman, working for the power company. Yes it's dangerous and I worry, but he's good at what he does. He also does just about everything to do with a horse; breaks them, trains them, shoes them and loves to trail ride. He recently lost his beloved horse, Zip, and we're all still trying to get over it.
We have a 6 year old son, LittleMan, who just started First Grade. He loves to play sports, especially Baseball. He loves riding horses and even has one of his very own, Bandit. He also loves swimming, riding 4-wheelers, & country music.
We also have a 3 year old daughter, Princess. She is The Princess around here. She Loves to sing and dance, especially dance. She loves horses too, but can only stand riding for short times. She loves anything pink & she collects purses and shoes.
My hobbies include: thrift store shopping, sale shopping, and just plain shopping =), photography, cooking, swimming, and playing on the internet.

My (late) Mother's Day Gift (and part LittleMan's Graduation Gift)
I told you that I didn't really get a typical Mother's Day because Hubby had to go on storm duty. Well, he's been talking about building me a small pond in the yard as my gift since then. We went to Lowe's to look around, and the prices on the materials for a pond were outrageous! I told him I could wait.
Well we went to Wally World, on our way home, to get groceries. He decided we need to look at the pools. We found a small 12ft by 3ft (just like this one, but a different size) pool on a center aisle for only 98.74. He took the pool, accessories and the kids through a different aisle, since I had the groceries. They charged him $119 for the pool, but after he took them back there and showed them where they were placed, they refunded him $21.88!
So the pool (which btw, is ever-so-perfect, because is isn't over Princess's head) is half my Mother's Day gift and half LittleMan's Graduation gift.
We've been in it everyday since! Check these pictures of the kids playing while Daddy was still filling it up with water.

R.I.P. Zip
They brought him home yesterday and we buried him in the pasture.
It's been a sad weekend.
Rest in Peace Zip
Where to Bury a Horse
If you bury him in this spot, the secret of which you must already have,
he will come to you when you call; come to you over the far, dim pastures of death.
And though you ride other living horses through life,
they shall not shy at him, nor resent his coming.
For he is yours, and he belongs there.
People may scoff at you, who see no lightest blade of grass bent by his footfall,
who hear no nicker pitched too fine for insensitive ears.
People who may never really love a horse.
Smile at them then, for you shall know something that is hidden from them
and which is well worth the knowing...
The one place to bury a horse is in the heart of his master.

T-Ball Game #10
LittleMan missed this game. It was a tournament game.
And Hubby obviously "forgot" to call the coach and let him know that LittleMan wouldn't be there, because I got a couple calls from the coach on my cell phone.
I called him back and let him know what was up.
He was relieved, he said, because he knows we never miss a practice or game. He thought something bad had happen.

Thrift Store Finds ~ 5/16/08
I got some great deals today! I find that it's hard to find good clothes for little boys around the size of LittleMan, because they wear them out. So all LittleMan got, clothes-wise, was a Timberland jacket. But I got Princess a lot of clothes. She is in a size 2T right now. I got her one skirt that was a 18m {she is tiny waisted}, and I got her some 3Ts, 4Ts, 5Ts, and some 6/6x. {I like to go ahead if the price is right}.
Look at all I got for UNDER $50!
For LittleMan
3Ts
5Ts
6/6x

R.I.P. Mimi
Hubby was backing out of the driveway this morning when he accidentally ran Mimi over. It tore him up, she was his pup. He'd always wanted a red heeler, and we'd only had her a few months.

T-Ball Game #9
Last night's ballgame was cancelled due to rain.
How come when we need rain, we don't get it. But now, we're getting it when we need to be playing ballgames?
LittleMan is going to be missing the game this Saturday (Game #10), the Tournament game. I didn't realize, but Hubby had been planning a camping trip for the two of them and he says LittleMan will just have to miss the game. Maybe if they told us about it more than a week beforehand ...

Update on Hubby
On Monday, I wrote that Hubby was pulling up (from storm duty) as I blogged.
What I forgot to update you on, was that he only had a couple hours to be home before he had to leave back out on storm.
He left at noon for Macon Georgia.
They had barely had any sleep.
The next night, they only got 2 hours sleep.
This morning, he said they finally got to sleep last night.
Now, hubby's just called me again to let me know they are on their way home from Georgia.
And that he should be here around 5pm.
Yay! I've missed him so much.

1 Week til Graduation
LittleMan will be graduating from Kindergarten on May 20th. I am excited, nervous, happy, sad, all in one big jumbled mess. I already know I am going to cry, there's no doubt. Hubby has already admitted he's knows he's going to cry too. {Aww} =)
Join me, as I take a trip down Memory Lane......
Dear LittleMan,
In a very short week, you will go from being my 6 year old Kindergartner to being my 6 year old Kindergarten Graduate. Wow. How did it go so fast? I'm happy to see your love of learning. I'm nervous that you are out there on your own, without me. I'm sad because you are growing up. I'm beaming at the littleman you are turning into.
On your first day of school, you were so excited, until we left the house. Then when we got to the school, you were nervous. I was nervous. I didn't want to leave you there alone. You didn't want me to leave you there all alone ... until you seen there was playdoh.
You were behind the other kids from the first day. You didn't have the chance to go to Preschool. You had to try harder to learn as fast. And you did.
Come September, you were in a program called The Foreign Food Festival. Your class had Australia as your country. You and your class got on stage and sang a song called "Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree" You were great! After every class had a chance to sing their parts, it was off to the classroom, where Mommy helped serve all the Kindergartners plates of food from all different countries. You didn't really like the food. But you ate some anyway. And you looked adorable in your blue hat!
In February, you got all excited about running for "King of Hearts", which for the most part was just a fund-raiser. You didn't really do anything. I collected what money I could in a short time. But you didn't win King. You did get a trophy though, that said Prince of Hearts. You were satisfied. I was happy you were satisfied.
Then a little over a week later, you lost your first tooth. Well, actually, you pulled it out. My LittleMan is a ToughBoy! You were bummed you only got a dollar for it from the toothfairy, you were expecting twenty!
In March, you had Kite Day at school. It was your first kite ever. You loved it and you loved that day at school. As soon as you got home. You tore up your first kite. And you cried. That weekend, we got another kite and I taught you how to handle it. You forgot all about that old kite and had a fun day with your new favorite toy.
In April, you played your first game of your second year of T-ball. This year, you are the pitcher. It's a lot different from when you played outfield last year. Last year, your team only lost one game, and were the T-Ball champions. You expected as much this year. You are learning to lose gracefully. And you're getting a lot of practice. =) But like Mommy says, it's not about winning, it's about playing your best and having fun!
Now, it's May already. Graduation time. You've developed just like you should. Even better, really. You are so smart! Your reading is amazing, your math makes me so proud, you're picking everything up so well!! I am so proud of YOU!!! MY LittleMan.
Love You Infinity,
Mommy
