My First and (I hope) Only Political Post

I vowed not to post about the presidential election.

Almost everyone is posting about it and they're getting attacked no matter what they say.

I know everyone has their own opinion and I don't hate or want to threaten others who do not have the same views as myself.

That's why I've never posted my vote for President 08 yet...

Seems just because one friend votes Republican and one votes Democrat, a relationship can be ruined over their political views.

It's silly.

Just my opinion.

So I will announce .... Go ahead and bring on the nasty comments, I know they're coming, but I don't care. I don't care, if you wanna think bad of me for not agreeing with your views. I don't think bad about you for your views.

I'M bigger than that.

I'm a Hardcore Conservative Republican and I'm damn proud. And I'll be happy when McCain/Palin makes it to office.

Better News from my Cardiologist

So today was my yearly appointment with my cardiologist.

**For you new readers, I have cardiomyopathy & almost died from congestive heart failure 3 years ago, when my daughter was only 4 days old.**

Anyhoo ... he said that I looked really good and he took me off of the Lasix!!!

Yay!!!

I go back in 10 months.

Dermatologist update

So, I have stress-induced Eczema. She said also probably a bit because of hormones too.

Just freakin' great ... Like I need something else to deal with.

I haven't told you but that Hubby has Severe Eczema. It's very painful and different from my type.

So, I discussed some things with the doctor about some issues with Princess's legs & LittleMan's feet & elbows, and it's quite possible they inherited Eczema from their Daddy. I guess because my case is so mild and his is so severe ? not sure why else she would say it was from Hubby.

Remember last month, when I blogged about my mysterious rash?

{Since then, it has been coming and going and on different parts of my body, so weird}

Well, I'm finally going to the Dermatologist this morning.

Dermatologists are crazy hard to get an appointment with, by the way.

that I don't have some crazy condition or whatever...

And my cardiologist rescheduled my appointment last month, so I have to go see him tomorrow. What is it with me and doctors??

Potty Training Success ??

Princess has been pull-up free (except for at night) for 2 days now.

(And with only 1 accident. Which was while she was standing next to the potty.)

And we haven't been staying at home either. We were gone with Daddy while he shod horses yesterday, and this morning we went to get LittleMan's hair cut, and pick up a few things at WalMart.

I think she almost has this thing whipped!!

The doctor I saw today called it a wandering rash (?) and referred me to a dermatologist.

I go to my heart doctor next week.

And I'll soon look into going to a therapist.

Hurricane Gustav

My SIL & Nieces #1 & #2 are here in Alabama.

They evacuated Louisiana because of Gustav.

They are told that it may be 6-8 weeks before they have power again.

And that the toilets cannot be flushed because sewers are full too.

Just ... wow. 6-8 weeks without being able to go home.

For the past several days, we've had some not-so-great weather, here in Alabama, due to Hurricane Fay. We've been under numerous tornado watches & flash flood watches. I hydroplaned today trying to go to town.

Hubby is on storm duty in Dothan, and we are here with a whacked-up fuse box. Some of our rooms don't have lights, and one room's sockets aren't working, so no television in this room.

I hope tomorrow is a much better day.

Update on Allergic Reactions

I bought LittleMan Loreal shampoo & Loreal Body wash for Delicate skin. I figured I would go ahead and change not just his Johnson Buddies soap, but his Suave shampoo too. Because my Mom and myself are both allergic to Suave products, so it may very well be the shampoo that gave him the allergic reaction too. {Princess will continue to use the Suave shampoo & Buddies soap unless she has a reaction}

So last night, he washed with the new shampoo and body wash.

This morning, he was fine!

LittleMan is off to First Grade

First off, he woke up with his second allergic reaction of the week!!! I had to take him to the doctor on Monday because he woke up with a Terrible allergic reaction. I wasn't sure it was an allergic reaction, so I took him to the doctor. [My SIL R said it looked like chicken pox, although I didn't think so, I took him to be sure.] He's been on Zyrtec & Benadryl since Monday. Since he had Benadryl before he went to bed, the reaction this morning wasn't as severe as Monday's. On Monday, his eye was even swollen! Anyway ... Monday I couldn't figure out what in the world he could have gotten into that gave him an allergic reaction. But this morning, it wasn't very long before I realized what it probably is. Both Sunday night and last night, when he took his bath, he used the Johnson's Buddy soap to wash with. That is the only thing I can think of that was the same for both reactions. We're going to hold off on using that soap and see how it goes...

Anyway, Today is LittleMan's 1st day of First Grade!

He was super excited, telling me that he kept opening his eyes in the night to see if it was morning yet! When we got to school, he got shy, but anyone that knows LittleMan, knows that is how he is, shy! He will get over it soon though. We were a lot earlier than the other students. I waited with him until others showed up, so he wouldn't be bored.

The teacher had already given him a "job" before I left. His job for the rest of the morning was to show all the other students where the refrigerator was located, so they could put their juice in there.

We went to LittleMan's 1st Grade Orientation tonight.

There are 3 children in his class that he already knows, so that will make it easier on him.

One boy was in his class last year.

One girl he played T-Ball with, and one boy that he played T-Ball with.

"Eye" have Problems

We were about to leave out for my in-laws for 4th of July celebrations, when Princess just up and poked herself in the eye.

We're not sure if it was an accident, or curiosity. But she stood there, poked herself in the eye, and then started whining. She even owned up to doing it herself. [She usually blames everything on her brother]

I checked her eye and it looked fine, so we hopped on in This Old Truck and headed out for a 3 hour drive.

Princess's eye would be fine for a while, then she'd cry for a while. We did everything we could to keep her from rubbing it, to no avail. She finally fell asleep and slept around half the way up there.

We had my MIL meet us in the town before we get to her house, where Princess and I got in the car with her, and Hubby and LittleMan went on to her house.

We took her to the clinic, and they told us to take her to the eye doctor. With it being July 3rd, both the eye doctors in the town were closed for the rest of the week.

We ended up at the Emergency room. It took hours, of course, to get in to see the doctor. It was worth it though, to end my baby's pain.

They didn't think she had a scratch, which is what we feared. But to be certain, they would have to stick her eye and numb it, then put dye in it. She was already hysterical, because she doesn't like to go to the doctor, so they decided to give us a prescription for some eye drops [which btw, were terribly expensive!!!] and some eye patches and told us to come back in 24 hours if that didn't fix it.

Thank God it worked!!! I was to put one drop in her eye every 3 hours. Well I got 3 drops into her eye that day, and then she went to bed for the night. The next morning, all was well!!!

And no I didn't get any pictures of her with the eye patch on, but I think my MIL did, lol.

This Old Truck had another Repair

So, when when we bought This Old Truck, it messed up within a week. The dealer helped get it fixed, and we just had to pay $700 for labor.

One of the first things the shop told us, was that the fuel injection pump was about to go out. Later, they covered their butts and told us that no, it was something else.

This Old Truck still acted up every once in a while. Sounding like it was "missin". (It got to be more and more lately.)

Fast forward almost a year, when Hubby wrecked the truck and it went to the shop for repairs. He asked them to check the truck for Any repairs needed.

The truck did indeed need a new fuel injection pump, and had needed one for quite a time.

My hunch is that the dealer was trying to get out of paying whatever they could get by without.

So, Hubby shopped around for a couple weeks until finding the cheapest rebuilt one that was close-by. He drove to Birmingham and picked it up, then took it to a shop we chose because they also offered the lowest price for installing, and was local, just a few miles down the road.

All in all, it cost us $1700. I cringed at the thought of all that money going into This Old Truck, since he's been such a money-hog already. But safety first. I didn't want Hubby to be somewhere out in the boonies when it went out on him.

Still No T-Ball Party

I'm not sure what's up with LittleMan's Team Party. I haven't heard a dang thing from that "coach" if you can call him that.

If you'll remember, the season was over on June 7th. So what's the hold up?

School starts here on August 7th, so they only have 2 weeks left before they will be busy with other things.

I sure hope this "coach" gets his act together soon. Because if LittleMan went through all he went through, and doesn't even get a trophy. They'll be Major Issues when I talk to the board.

Welcome to the Family Niece#4

SIL B had baby Niece#4 yesterday morning around 10:35am. I didn't ask the exact time, because I got the call at 10:20 that she was starting to push and another call at 10:35 that Niece#4 had arrived, healthy!

She was 6lbs. 14oz. and 18 in. long. She is the shortest of my FIL's grandbabies, but not the smallest, Niece#2 was 6lb. 9oz, I believe.

I've had family visiting is one reason I haven't really blogged.

The other reason is that I am just in a funk. And not in a good way.

It's not THAT boring around here, there's things to blog about.
I just don't feel like blogging.

I've been a bit depressed off and on, but this time it's different.

Nothing seems to make it better for long & Hubby isn't much help either.

We've been really busy for the past couple weeks.

We spent a week in my hometown visiting with Hubby's family, then my family.

We celebrated Independence Day, we attended my SIL B's baby shower, and the guys rode horses. Matter fact, I barely got any pictures of LittleMan because he was always off on a horse!

We brought my Mother home with us for a week.

My Granny will be arriving tomorrow to spend the night, then take my Mother back home with her.

Our Independence Celebration Plans

Today is the last day of June!

I cannot believe July is upon us already! June just flew by!

And we didn't keep up with schoolwork or anything!

Thursday morning, we are leaving for my Hubby's mother's house. We will be having cookouts, and going to SIL B's baby shower. [Niece4 is due to join us early August] [We also have a Niece5 due to join us in early October, from BIL C and his gf-L]

From there, we are driving over to my Granny's house on Monday morning, and spending some time there, until leaving to come home late Tuesday night. We like to drive while the kids sleep!

We are bringing my mother home with us. Hubby has taken his vacation that week. (July 7-11) We plan to do some things with my Mom. Like going up Cheaha Mt. and having a picnic.

My Granny & Papaw will be coming to pick my Mom up on July 16. I hope they plan to stay at least one night with us, it's been such a long time since they both have been able to come down.

So, I will be pretty busy! I just hope I get everything I need done by Wednesday night. I hate forgetting things at home when we travel!

This Old Truck

When we first bought my Hubby's Dodge dually, back in August of last year, a week hadn't passed when the transmission tore up.

The car lot that we bought it from payed for all the materials needed to fix the dually, we just had to pay $700 for the labor. Fair enough, since they weren't responsible for repairs once we signed papers. (It was sort of a good-faith thing.)

Then, back in February, I wrote about the brakes, axles and all that being messed up on the truck. We spent almost $3000 to get it fixed.

Almost 2 weeks ago, I told you about Hubby wrecking his truck. The repair shop had to fix almost the whole wrecked side, rims included. And he got 4 new tires on the back. (He got tires on both sides, so the treads would match.)

Another new tire, from having a flat and being stuck uptown at a gas station. (And men kept coming up to him talking to him and he had to threaten one guy with his flashlight to get him to leave him alone!)

If things keep going, at this rate, his 2001 dually will be like a brand new truck! lol

I just had to find some humor in all this to keep from going mad, although, I doubt he would think it's funny.

And Our Bad Luck Continues....

So, since my last post about our Bad Luck lately, our insurance company cancelled our vehicle insurance.

A BIG Poop on them. That's all I have to say about that.

LittleMan got choked today on Chinese food and I thought I was going to have to do the Heimlich Maneuver on him. Luckily, he got it (a long piece of lettuce!) up quickly and was okay.

And to top things off?? Hubby is sitting at a gas station Right Now with a flat tire on the front of his truck. He's been there for an hour and can't get a hold of anyone to come help. I just asked him, could he not switch the front tire with one on the back and run it home. (He drives a dually, which has 4 back tires) He is trying that now and is going to call me back.

When will it all turn around??

I've decided that if I'm ever going to get to remodel my nasty-yellow kitchen, I've got to make an effort to save the money to do so.

Here's my boundaries for funding my Kitchen Remodel

Any quarter that crosses my vision, in my house =) will go directly into the Kitchen Fund. I am doing only quarters because my time is money too. And quarters do not take long to roll and take to the bank. [I may eventually roll my dimes and nickles, but taking them to the Coin Star isn't worth the money after I drive down there...]
Any money I make from doing surveys (and other things) online
Unexpected Found Money, ex. found in old coat pocket, found on ground, etc.
Any Money Donated to us
Money I make off Yard Sales
Money I make off E-bay, if I ever start selling there
Money I make selling anywhere else, ex. Trader's Helper

I will not be using the difference that I save when I use coupons. It is a great idea, and I know a lot of people do it, my Granny has even said I should. But I usually save around $18-20 when I use coupons, and that money is better served going towards bills.

So far, I have saved $22. Not a lot, I know. But it will grow!

There are many things that I do not share with you in the bloggy world. Things that are way too personal, things that are embarrassing, things that scare me to think of therefore I do not wish to blog, and things that are just plain boring.

I wasn't going to share any of the following, until now.

The reason I decided to share this, is I think our luck may be changing ... finally.

The past 2 months, we've had some serious things occur, that tested our strength, our faith, and our relationship.

There were times we thought that it would never get better, times when we couldn't see even a glimmer of good anywhere in sight.

You already know about Mimi dying, Zip drowning, LittleMan's habit of running into things with his head, twice, LittleMan not making All Stars; but that's just the tip of the iceberg.

I won't tell you everything that's happen, but I can give you an idea of what it's been like...

The weekend that Mimi and Zip passed, of course there was the fact that Hubby almost drowned with Zip. Another thing that happen that weekend, that seemed insignificant at the time, was we got a tick off of LittleMan's head.

He's had ticks on him more times that I can count. Probably more times than I even know, since he and my Hubby go camping and horse-riding a lot.

A couple weeks went by, and while were we visiting family for my cousin's high school graduation, Hubby noticed that LittleMan had a knot on his neck.

Fast forward a few days, and I take him to his pediatrician. His doctor finds another knot on his neck, and one on the back of his head. He tells me it's caused by kittens scratching LittleMan's hands.

But LittleMan hasn't been around any kittens.

So, the doctor says, the only other thing that could cause swollen lymph nodes, is a tick bite. It sinks in.
OMG We just got a tick off of him 2 weeks earlier.

The doctor starts asking all these questions about LittleMan's behavior since the bite, and decides that he's fine, for now. But to watch him for the following week, for these certain signs, to make sure he doesn't need tested for Lyme Disease.

Lyme Disease?
Are you serious? OMG this doctor doesn't know that I completely over-react to everything!!

But the week comes and goes and LittleMan is fine. Thank God!

Another instance, happen after we got back from the graduation, but before LittleMan went to the doctor.

We love Mexican restaurants. All 4 of us. Can't get enough Mexican food.
So, we take LittleMan (and Princess) out to Sunday lunch. After his graduation, I went by and picked up his report card, and he received all 1's!! Great Job LittleMan!!! So the deal is, he gets to go out to eat...

Anyway, we had just sat down to eat, been there maybe 5 minutes, when Princess gets choked on a chip. Long story short, Hubby had to give her the Heimlich maneuver.

Come on now kids, are you trying to give me a heart attack??

The latest bad thing to happen, is that about 3 weeks ago, Hubby was on his way to work, when he wrecked his dually. I won't go into details, but the truck is in the shop and I'm driving a rental. A rental that had hogged more money for gas, than we've spent on groceries!

His truck is suppose to be ready by this weekend, so hopefully we'll be saying buh-bye to the gas guzzler.

(These things are just a taste of what we've gone through lately. There are other things that I cannont share that were way worse.)

So, what is this good thing that has inspired this post, you ask?

We are refinancing our home.

....Yes, that's good news!

I know what you're thinking. It's stressful, blah, blah, blah

Yes I'm listening

But listen to this...

Right now, we have a split mortgage, which really is just 2 mortgages. Combined they do not go over the value of our home. But, the interest is killing us!

On the larger mortgage, we're paying 8%, on the smaller, we're paying 13%

Yes, a combined 21%. Yowzer!

So, we're refinancing and getting ONE mortgage. And we're looking at somewhere between 6.5-7%, which will save us some much needed $$$

So..... my main reason to share this with all you in the bloggy world, is to ask for your good thoughts, prayers and words, in these times when we really could use them! (And we appreciate them greatly!)

We could use all the help we can get!

Our Weekend

Friday night, we had a visitor. One of our friends from our old hometown, who we haven't seen in years.

(He's in the National Guard and just got stationed near us.)

I made some rotisserie chicken and we sat and talked for hours. SIL R came too and joined us for supper, then took the kids with her for the weekend. [Thanks SIL R!]

Saturday morning, Hubby and I slept in. We went to town for Hubby to get a new shirt and pair of Levis. Then we had lunch at a Mexican restaurant that we've never been to before. It was pretty good.

We had a wedding to attend at 4pm. It was a beautiful ceremony. We didn't stay for the reception because, well, hey, it's not every weekend we're baby-free!

That night, Hubby took me to The Hornet's Nest, which is the Talladega Short Track. [We have friends that race.] We had a great time! With no kids, we were able to stay out after midnight! I came home with mud in my hair, up my nose and down my shirt, but it was fun!

We had a great weekend! Very fun and relaxing too!

We started out the morning alone. Just the two of us. Adults. Sleeping in. No kids.

It was ... Quiet & Peaceful ... so NOT like our lives

(The kids had stayed the weekend with my SIL R at MIL&FIL's house.)

So bring on them dang younguns!!!

We visited Hubby's parents' house for an hour or so, then we all came home. Hubby shod our two horses, he rode them, the kids rode, even I got up there and rode. (Dying of Fear Inside)

We swam in the pool for hours, we watched what Hubby wanted to watch on television. I made Breakfast Pizza for supper. We're backwards people, like that.

All in all, it was a good day.

[I missed my Dad though. And thought of him throughout the specialness of Hubby's day.]

We bought the house at the beginning of July 2004, we had a chimney fire at the end of January 2005. We have been through many stages of remodeling. Little bits here and there.

With it being the most money to remodel, it's been on the backburner....

Remember when I told you about LittleMan getting a pop knot by running into a car mirror in the dark?

Well, it wasn't dark and this time it was a horse trailer, but it has happen again!

This time, it was because he wasn't watching where he was going.

The knot was no where near as big as the one before, but this time there was a cut there too. My poor baby's head.

I hope that it doesn't happen again!!!! I think his poor head has had

All Stars

I have never been so infuriated before.

LittleMan didn't make the All Star team.

Which would be fine, if they could honestly tell me that he wasn't good enough. That all the others that made the team were better players and more ready to be on the All Star team.

Four boys from our team made All Stars and one made alternate.

2 of the boys were the coach's twins. Enough said there.

One boy never pays any attention to the game. He never knows where to throw the ball when he catches it.

The other boy deserved it. It was LittleMan's friend that got to play first base for the last few games. The boy that after the coach moved his son off of first base and let this boy play .... they actually started getting the crowds cheerin' and were winning ballgames.

The alternate? Is a boy, who may have a cannon for an arm, but cannot aim it what.so.ever. And will fight any one of his teammates for the ball, LittleMan included. Even though his job is to get the ball to the pitcher, he fights the pitcher for the ball. ????

So, our coach obviously was more worried with his boys making the All Star team than he was to actually pull for a great player, LittleMan.

LittleMan was so crushed. He spent the night telling me & Daddy that it was his fault. It was his fault because he didn't win more ballgames. Because this other boy hits the ball over his head and he can't catch it. That he's not good enough.

As I proceed to tell him, that NO it's not his fault, his coach is an asshole.

Okay, I didn't tell him that. But I told him that he was better than his coach and all his coach wanted was for his boys to be on the All Stars.

To top things off??

We waited down at the field for the ceremony for over an hour. It started late. When we left, we had been there close to 2 hours. All for them to announce the All Stars, break my son's heart, and he didn't even get a certificate ????????

Last year, they all got certificates for participation.

I feel like we just lost a popularity contest. Because this definitely wasn't based on Skill, Talent or anything other than popular vote.

Let's see the total shall we? The coach's twin boys made the team, all the other 3 boys that made it, or alternate, all their fathers were base coaches, ran the score sheets, or something like that.

??

You tell me?

Would you believe in a player enough to put him in the Pitcher position if you thought he wasn't good enough?

How about the fact that the coach sees how one of his own sons is and even said that he wished that he could hold him back and make him play another year of T-Ball before moving up to Baseball like they all will next year, but yet, he still makes the All Star team and LittleMan doesn't?

It just doesn't make sense to me.

They won 23-22

We have to go back to the field for Closing Ceremonies at 7pm. Then the season will officially be over. =( Wow it went by really fast!

Last night's game was awesome!

They got this little boy out at first base, and he cried, so our coach let him come back to play anyway, which cost us 4 more runs!!! (I was kind of upset about that call, because the other teams always fight us if we wanna bend the rules our way. They're fine with it if we bend for them though)

But LittleMan & his buddy on First base played so well together (and so did the rest of the team- they rocked!), it didn't matter that the other team got those extra 4 points.

They still won 18-15

Taste vs. Price

With today's prices on food, I tend to buy everything I can, generic. There usually isn't much of a difference, if any, to the taste versus the name brands. In some cases, the generic tastes even better than the name brand.

There are certain items, though, that I (have tried the generic, but) will not compromise. There's no since in buying the generic if you do not like the taste. It's a waste of money if you do not use the product.

Items I only buy name-brand.
Such as:

-Orville Redenbacher Popcorn - No other popcorn taste anywhere near as good. I will not buy any other brand.

-Dr. Pepper vs. Dr. Thunder - I will never again buy Dr. Thunder. It gave me a terrible bladder infection.

-Velveeta Shells & Cheese - I bought the off brand about a week ago. It tasted like oil.

-Country Crock margarine - Nothing tastes like it

-Ore-Ida French fries - they've never been soggy like generic

-Certain condiments; A1, Hunts BBQ sauce

Then there's the products that I prefer to buy generic;

-No-stick canola spray/cooking spray

-Cereal

-Milk

-Bread

-Shredded cheese

-cookies

-certain condiments; ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise

It was hot, Hot, HOT.

The kids were not very happy.

They did leave "that boy" on first base, so the game was pretty good.

But they did lose 17-10

I was just glad to get out of the sun and go home.

Last night (Friday) was the #13 game.

They played great!!

[The coach has twin boys who both play on LittleMan's team. One plays 1st base, one plays in between 1st and 2nd base.] Both the twins missed the game because they had to have their tonsils out. So one of LittleMan's best friends played first base.

The boys played so well together! They had the crowds cheering!

As ugly as I know this sounds, I hope that the coach leaves that boy on first base. [Some other Moms were saying that we always lose because of where the twins play.] And as ugly as that seems too, it kind of makes sense.

I just know that they won 17-12!

They have a make-up game today, I will post about it tonight or tomorrow.

My name is Daphne. I was born and raised in Northwest Alabama. I lived there for twenty years, then moved to East Central Alabama.

I married my Hubby right out of high school. July 24, 1999. And I'm still head over heels for him. Most days anyway =) He is the Lead Lineman, working for the power company. Yes it's dangerous and I worry, but he's good at what he does. He also does just about everything to do with a horse; breaks them, trains them, shoes them and loves to trail ride. He recently lost his beloved horse, Zip, and we're all still trying to get over it.

We have a 6 year old son, LittleMan, who just started First Grade. He loves to play sports, especially Baseball. He loves riding horses and even has one of his very own, Bandit. He also loves swimming, riding 4-wheelers, & country music.

We also have a 3 year old daughter, Princess. She is The Princess around here. She Loves to sing and dance, especially dance. She loves horses too, but can only stand riding for short times. She loves anything pink & she collects purses and shoes.

My hobbies include: thrift store shopping, sale shopping, and just plain shopping =), photography, cooking, swimming, and playing on the internet.

My (late) Mother's Day Gift (and part LittleMan's Graduation Gift)

I told you that I didn't really get a typical Mother's Day because Hubby had to go on storm duty. Well, he's been talking about building me a small pond in the yard as my gift since then. We went to Lowe's to look around, and the prices on the materials for a pond were outrageous! I told him I could wait.
Well we went to Wally World, on our way home, to get groceries. He decided we need to look at the pools. We found a small 12ft by 3ft (just like this one, but a different size) pool on a center aisle for only 98.74. He took the pool, accessories and the kids through a different aisle, since I had the groceries. They charged him $119 for the pool, but after he took them back there and showed them where they were placed, they refunded him $21.88!

So the pool (which btw, is ever-so-perfect, because is isn't over Princess's head) is half my Mother's Day gift and half LittleMan's Graduation gift.

We've been in it everyday since! Check these pictures of the kids playing while Daddy was still filling it up with water.

Saturday May 17, Zip, Hubby's horse, and pride and joy ... drowned. He got caught up in something under the water, with Hubby on his back.

Hubby and some others tried to pull him out, but Zip panicked.

They brought him home yesterday and we buried him in the pasture.

It's been a sad weekend.

LittleMan missed this game. It was a tournament game.

And Hubby obviously "forgot" to call the coach and let him know that LittleMan wouldn't be there, because I got a couple calls from the coach on my cell phone.

I called him back and let him know what was up.
He was relieved, he said, because he knows we never miss a practice or game. He thought something bad had happen.

A Big Whopping $5.97 of that was just the Huggies Diaper Wipes!

After my .50 coupon off the diaper wipes, $5.47 of this was still just the Huggies Diaper Wipes!

I got 5 free magazines in the mail this week. I got the Dove shampoo & conditioner in the mail from Walmart. The rest, 2 Clean & Clear, 2 Kotex, 2 Johnson Buddies Soap and the KY Jelly (hehe) I had coupons for and actually made money off of some of them. All together I made $2.61 off of the products.

Now for my Almost-freebies

I had coupons for all the above items, that made them all very cheap. I got all but one item from Walmart.

We'll start with the Dove Deoderant, which was the only item in the picture I got from Target. It was .99 and I had a .75 off coupon, making it total .24

The Dixie napkins were priced $1.47 and I had a $1 off coupon, making the total .47

The Edge shaving cream was priced at $1.47 and I had a $1 off coupon, making the total .47

The Electrasol was priced at $2.47 and I had a .75 off coupon, making the total 1.72

The 2 Clean Team refills were priced at $1.64 each and I had a $3/2 coupon, making the total .14 for each (.28 together)

Total paid for the above items? (before tax) = $3.18

Thrift Store Finds ~ 5/16/08

Being that today is the 10 year Anniversary of Hubby and I being together, and he decided to spend the day riding horses with his buddies ... I decided to go to the Thrift Store, that I LOVE and haven't been to in months.

I got some great deals today! I find that it's hard to find good clothes for little boys around the size of LittleMan, because they wear them out. So all LittleMan got, clothes-wise, was a Timberland jacket. But I got Princess a lot of clothes. She is in a size 2T right now. I got her one skirt that was a 18m {she is tiny waisted}, and I got her some 3Ts, 4Ts, 5Ts, and some 6/6x. {I like to go ahead if the price is right}.

Last night's ballgame was cancelled due to rain.

How come when we need rain, we don't get it. But now, we're getting it when we need to be playing ballgames?

LittleMan is going to be missing the game this Saturday (Game #10), the Tournament game. I didn't realize, but Hubby had been planning a camping trip for the two of them and he says LittleMan will just have to miss the game. Maybe if they told us about it more than a week beforehand ...
